The Mexican Transforms itself for Dia de Muertos

This Día de Muertos, The Mexican invites you to an authentic and unforgettable celebration of life, memory, and culture. From October 23 through November 2, the restaurant will transform into a stunning tribute to the tradition of Día de Muertos — offering an immersive atmosphere that honors ancestral heritage while embracing The Mexican’s elevated aesthetic.

Over 4,200 fresh cempasúchil flowers — the iconic marigold known as the flower of the dead — will fill the space, creating a fragrant, visual homage to those who came before us. A carefully curated altar, glowing with reverence and intention, will greet guests at the entrance. More than a display, it is a masterpiece of remembrance — anchoring the experience in tradition and soul.

On November 1st and 2nd, guests will enjoy live mariachi performances that provide a soulful soundtrack to the evening. Photo installations and decorated vignettes throughout the restaurant will allow guests to capture the spirit of the celebration in every moment. Spectacular Catrinas, brought to life in breathtaking detail, will roam the space — offering unforgettable photo opportunities and lending a magical, ethereal presence throughout the evening.

The chefs have crafted a stunning lineup of Día de Muertos specials for the occasion. Guests can start with the Blue Point Oysters, featuring ahi tuna, yuzu kosho, and cucumber granita — a fresh, vibrant bite to awaken the palate. The Lobster Poblano Bisque offers a rich, comforting blend of roasted poblanos and corn soup with squash blossom and tender lobster tail bites. The Braised Short Rib in Recado Negro is a bold centerpiece dish, served with a cucumber and radish salad, pickled red onions, black beans, and warm tortillas. To end the evening on a sweet note, the Sugar Skull dessert brings together Pan de Muerto, tres leches mix, red berries, whipped cream, and a touch of tortilla ash for a dramatic, delicious finale.

Reservations are strongly encouraged. The Mexican is located at 1401 Turtle Creek Blvd, and Día de Muertos specials will be available from October 23 through November 2, 2025. Follow @themexicandallas on Instagram for updates, behind-the-scenes previews, and more.
