The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas delivered a holiday staycation that exceeded every expectation, offering luxury, warmth, and culinary celebration at the highest level. Upon arrival, Executive Pastry Chef Corey Thomson personally greeted me with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies — still warm, aromatic, and delicately crisp on the edges. He followed with a private tour through all six kitchens, each one humming with thoughtful precision. The culinary teams prepare nearly everything from scratch, down to the hamburger buns. Chef Thomson tempers his own chocolate for a variety of intricate desserts, from glossy bonbons to jewel-like truffles, showcasing both technical mastery and artistry. His team was efficient, enthusiastic, and genuinely proud of their craft.

My suite was a true oasis — a space that balanced modern comfort with timeless refinement. A proper living room invited relaxation, while the serene bedroom offered crisp linens, soft lighting, and a sense of calm. The spacious marble bathroom felt almost spa-like itself, stocked with every imaginable amenity. The minibar was impressively curated, and the chef’s homemade touches — including cookies adorned with “Thank you for your service” — added a sense of intimacy and heart. Handwritten notes from the chef and staff expressed genuine gratitude, transforming the experience into something personal and unforgettable.

Dinner at Fearing’s was as iconic as one might dream. I began with a perfectly chilled foie gras torchon — velvety and nuanced — followed by beef carpaccio dressed in Texas flair: fresh corn, avocado, and herbs. The sommelier’s wine pairings were elegant and insightful, which comes as no surprise — Fearing’s just earned the Wine Spectator 2025 Award of Excellence, distinguishing it among the world’s elite dining destinations. The Chilean sea bass was cooked to silken perfection, while the duck breast offered deep, resonant flavor. Dessert brought a duet of comfort and sophistication: a decadent chocolate cake and a playful banana pudding crowned with toasted meringue and warm, airy beignets.
As a final flourish, boxed house-made bonbons and pâte de fruit in signature Ritz Memento Blue packaging closed the evening on a high note. I even had the privilege of thanking Dean Fearing himself — newly honored on the Culinary Institute of America’s Walk of Fame and recognized by Michelin.
Beyond the dining, the amenities elevated the stay into a world-class experience. The Ritz-Carlton Spa is an escape into calm — softly lit, scented with lavender, and centered around rejuvenation. The massages are restorative and precise, while facials use luxury-grade ingredients that leave skin glowing. The spa’s relaxation lounge and eucalyptus steam rooms offer perfect respites between treatments.

The Concierge Floor, reserved for Club Level guests, felt like a sanctuary within the sanctuary. With sweeping skyline views, it provided a quiet, refined atmosphere for unwinding. Oysters on the half shell, shrimp cocktail, and an ever-changing spread of artisanal bites made it indulgent at any hour. A dedicated concierge team offered personalized assistance — from arranging last-minute reservations to delivering unexpected treats — ensuring every detail felt considered.
The pool sparkled with Dallas skyline views, framed by private cabanas and a peaceful energy that made it easy to linger. The fitness center impressed with its thoughtful layout, stocked with the latest equipment and cold eucalyptus towels that made even a quick workout feel luxurious. And throughout the property, the floral arrangements stood as small works of art — lush, sculptural compositions that reflected the season’s spirit and the hotel’s unmistakable sense of grandeur.
Minutes from the hotel, Dallas’ premier shopping district adds another layer of indulgence to the experience. Guests can stroll through Highland Park Village, a historic open-air shopping enclave lined with twinkling lights and flagship boutiques like Chanel, Hermes, and Ralph Lauren. NorthPark Center, only a short drive away, blends high-end fashion with curated art installations, creating a uniquely Dallas fusion of culture and couture. Local gems such as Stanley Korshak offer personalized service and curated collections that reflect the city’s refined yet approachable style. Whether searching for the perfect holiday gift, a statement piece, or simply the joy of window-shopping, the surrounding neighborhood delivers world-class retail therapy worthy of The Ritz-Carlton name.
From start to finish, service was seamless — friendly yet unobtrusive, knowledgeable yet warm. Every interaction felt genuine, every smile sincere. The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas remains the city’s crown jewel of hospitality: a place where comfort and craft intertwine, and where every guest is treated as if they’ve come home. Whether you’re a local seeking a pampered escape or a traveler from afar, this experience is the very definition of exceptional.
