White Rhino Coffee, a Dallas-born specialty coffee company known for community-focused cafés, has purchased Emporium Pies, one of North Texas’ most beloved dessert destinations.
The acquisition brings together two majority women-owned, local brands built on craft, quality, and community. Former owners and sisters Landon Perdue, Jen Abohosh, and Addie Roberts say the transition reflects a natural alignment in values.
Roberts shared, “Part of our shared mission is hospitality and giving people a reason to celebrate. We love the team, who I’ll continue working alongside, and I’m excited for this next chapter together. Dessert brings people joy in a way nothing else can, and we’re thrilled to see that legacy carried forward.”
Emporium Pies began as a small operation selling pies from a 1930s Victorian bungalow in Bishop Arts. It quickly grew into a fan favorite and now has four locations across Dallas–Fort Worth: Bishop Arts, Deep Ellum, McKinney, and Fort Worth.

Addie Roberts and the bakery team will remain on staff, keeping the recipes, spirit, and heart of Emporium Pies intact. “The shop will remain the same incredible place customers know and love,” Escamilla added.
For now, both businesses will operate as usual, but White Rhino Coffee plans to explore expanding Emporium Pies across the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Future collaborations, like signature pie-and-coffee pairings, will be introduced gradually to preserve each brand’s identity.
“For now, it simply means coffee and pie—two of life’s best comforts—can be enjoyed across both brands,” said Escamilla.
