AM/FM is opening in Dallas with early mornings, late nights, and a spirit that feels true to the city. Launching in January, the diner will open daily at 7 a.m., welcoming musicians coming off late sets, workers starting morning shifts, and neighbors looking for a place that feels familiar. Coffee refills come easily, the light is warm at sunrise, and as the day progresses, the room gradually shifts into a lounge with a pulse of its own.
At its core, AM/FM is about independence—the local, built-by-hand kind that defines Dallas’ creative community. As co-founder Matthew Harber explains, “This place is for the people who make Dallas what it is. Independent artists. Independent fans. People who show up for each other. AM/FM is meant to belong to them, first and always.”
Inside, the space is designed for comfort and connection. Cozy corners, a new bar, wraparound banquettes, and tables meant for conversation create a room that feels intimate without being precious. A small performance or a well-timed DJ set can subtly shift the mood, allowing moments to unfold naturally rather than feeling programmed.
Outside, the energy expands. The AM/FM backyard is built for larger gatherings and outdoor shows that feel relaxed and unforced. “The backyard gives people room to gather in a way that’s open and easy,” says co-founder Annette Marin. Ongoing refinements will continue to balance the concert experience with the surrounding neighborhood.
The food program centers on elevated diner classics influenced by Mexican-American kitchens and Nuevo Southern traditions—an expression of both personal history and North Texas culture. Led by chef Anastacia Quiñones-Pittman, the menu is designed to carry guests from morning through late night. “We wanted the food to feel like home,” she says. “Honest, warm, and made to take care of people.”
The beverage program follows the same philosophy: accessible and inclusive. Coffee, cocktails, and craft beer anchor a menu that feels familiar but thoughtfully updated. From early risers to late-night concertgoers, the goal is simple—to create a place where everyone feels welcome.
AM/FM operates on multiple frequencies: a morning diner with a steady hum, a nighttime lounge with a deeper rhythm, and a backyard that comes alive after dark. It’s not grand by design. That restraint is exactly what makes it work.
The lounge is expected to open in early January with evening hours, cocktails, and select afternoon soccer matches. A soft opening is planned for Thursday, January 8, followed by daily lounge hours beginning at 4 p.m. The full diner opening is scheduled for Tuesday, January 20.
