Mother’s Day falls on Sunday, May 10 this year, and if you haven’t made a reservation, now is the time. Restaurants across Dallas-Fort Worth are pulling out the good stuff — prix fixe menus, skyline views, afternoon teas, and a few places that don’t even open on Sundays making an exception. Here’s what’s happening.
Monarch is doing brunch 49 floors above the city from 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. The menu runs $125 for adults and $25 for kids, with lobster benedict, rigatoni carbonara, dover sole, and ricotta pancakes all on the table. It’s one of the more dramatic settings in Dallas on any given day. On Mother’s Day it’s going to be especially hard to beat. Reserve here.

Saturday, May 9 brings brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with caviar-topped deviled eggs, wagyu steak and eggs, and lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes. Sunday is afternoon tea — $89 per person, served with bubbly, with a kids’ menu at $35. The tea menu reads like a serious production: caviar tartlets, wagyu sando, foie gras macaron, strawberry choux. This is also the last tea of the season before the summer break, so it’s a good excuse to finally go. Book via Resy.
