The State Fair of Texas has been chipping away at the idea that a day at Fair Park has to wear out your wallet before it wears out your feet, and this year it’s making that official. Building on the reduced admission and parking pricing announced earlier this summer, the Fair just rolled out Every Day Values, presented by State Farm, a new program built entirely around showing Fairgoers where the deals actually are.
The most immediate change hits the Midway itself. Rides and games are dropping in price across the board this year, with an average price cut of 17 percent thanks to the Fair’s independent ride and game owners. Thrilling Tuesdays are back too, with most rides running four coupons and select kiddie rides down to three, though the Thrillway and the Texas Star Ferris Wheel sit outside that deal.
Beyond the Midway, Every Day Values pulls together a specific list of items built to stretch a coupon book further. An eight-coupon Fletcher’s Original Corny Dog is on it, along with six-coupon cotton candy, one-coupon bottled water at select locations, and six-coupon rides on the historic Midway Dentzel Carousel. Kids get a refillable drinkware option for ten coupons with five-coupon refills, and there’s a commemorative State Fair cup for thirteen coupons with four-coupon refills after that. The GO TEXAN Pavilion is handing out free chocolate milk, and select Midway games are set up so every kid walks away a winner.
Food gets its own spotlight too. More than 200 food and beverage items across the Fairgrounds are priced at ten dollars or less this year, plus a handful of value combo meals, and they’re all marked on-site with an Every Day Value sticker so nobody has to hunt for them table by table. It’s worth remembering how much of the Fair doesn’t cost anything extra once you’re through the gate. Admission already covers more than 100 daily attractions, including live music across four stages, the nightly Starlight Parade, the Mattress Firm Illumination Sensation fireworks show, the livestock barns, the Oak Farms Dairy Petting Zoo, the Texas Auto Show, and the Creative Arts building’s contest winners and cooking demos, on top of a visit with Big Tex himself.
