Kaboom Town Fireworks July 3rd – Win VIP Passes!

For those new to North Texas we have a tradition for our celebration of July 4th that has actually made worldwide news. The Kaboom Town fireworks is considered in the top ten of Independence Day displays in the nation with over 1,500 pounds of fireworks, a celebrated airshow with warplanes and air acrobatics, food, carnival fun and so much more. People around town have their favorite spots, including a variety of restaurants such as Chamberlain’s Fish Market Grill where chef Richard plots out space on his parking lot for an optimum view replete with a special 3-course dinner with a view that always sells out. Twin Peaks Annual Bikini Contest June 26

Things are heating up this summer for Twin Peaks’ annual national bikini contest.

On Tuesday, June 26, 82 Twin Peaks Girls from across the country will walk the runway at The Bomb Factory in Dallas to compete for the title of Miss Twin Peaks 2018.

An expert panel of celebrities, athletes and industry professionals will judge the contest and choose who will take home the crown. The contestants have impressive prizes at stake with over $25,000 up for grabs. Continue reading →

Taco Libre April 28th

TACO LIBRE DALLAS, now in it’s fourth year, is a gathering of the region’s best taquerias served with a side of a lucha libre wrestling and music. But really, it’s all about the tacos. Twenty four of the area’s best taque will range from traditional to contemporary. Each taqueria will have a $2 taco and there will be plenty of veggie options. Five chefs, five pigs and five winemakers are ready to create the Dallas food ultimate experience for the first time since the competition’s inception.

Cochon555, a nose to tail competition, was created in 2008 in response to lack of education around heritage breed pigs. The event is also dedicated to supporting family farmers and educating chefs and diners about the agricultural importance of utilizing Old World livestock. Continue reading →

Celebrate Groundhog’s Day with Ground Hog

We at CraveDFW worked the Groundhog beat this morning, staying up all night to see if the rodent Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow at Gobbler’s Knob in Pennsylvania.

The day derives from the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog emerging from its burrow on this day sees a shadow due to clear weather, it will retreat to its den and winter will persist for six more weeks, and if he does not, due to cloudiness, spring season will arrive early. The weather lore was brought from German-speaking areas where the badger is the forecasting animal. Continue reading →
