Rally For Charlie A Sweet Success

Last night the city of Dallas witnessed the largest outpouring of love and respect for the godfather of the craft cocktail movement in Dallas, Charlie Papaceno.  As previously mention on craveDFW, Papaceno plans to open his new bar, Industry Alley.

It was during the building process of the bar, which he did much of the labor himself, that he met with an accident while installing a barn door that is just off the largish patio set at the entrance of the bar. His hand was badly cut and he spent some time with doctors. It was during a hospital visit that it was discovered that Papaceno had developed cancer and he immediately began treatment.   Continue reading

Grand Opening Of Industry Alley And Benefit June 8th *Update

The Dallas bartender and chef community are joining forces to hold a fundraiser for Dallas bartending legend, Charlie Papaceno, who is currently battling an aggressive form of cancer. The event will also serve as the grand opening for Charlie’s new bar, Industry Alley and will take place on June 8th from 2pm-8pm.  The event will include guest bartenders from across the state, a pig roast, a silent auction featuring coursed dinner and cocktail pairings, and highlighted by the Battle of the Bars – a giant game of cutthroat, no holds bar, Giant Twister.  Continue reading
