Located in the historic district of Deep Ellum, at 2647 Main Street, Dallas, TX 75226 and sharing a stand-alone building with local favorite Merit Coffee, the new restaurant and bar features a carefully selected wine program as well as an approachable yet sophisticated food menu.
With a motto of “drinking wine at lunch is not a crime”, the vibrant and passionate co-founder, Lauren Bailey explains, “Deep Ellum instantly caught our attention with its deep-rooted history, incredible buildings and lively community. By now most have heard about the exciting new restaurant in The Village by Junior Borges, Meridian. Reviews have been overwhelmingly positive and word of mouth keeps them pretty much packed every night. Weekend reservations through resy are usually booked up one to two weeks in advance, but walk-ins can arrive early for happy hour and pony up to one of the 10 seats at the bar. Happy Hour runs from 4:30p-6p Tuesday through Friday and there are some great options at reduced prices, as well as the full menu available.

Monarch, the highly anticipated wood-fired, modern Italian restaurant led by two-time Michelin-starred Chef Danny Grant has been open for two weeks and is already the hardest reservation to score in town. We were lucky enough to grab one at their opening hour of five o’clock, and here’s our first look.

Open kitchen with wood fired hearth. Diners in the north dining room are in full view of the action.

This week we trekked down to Lower Greenville for a visit to one of the hottest spots in Dallas as they celebrate the Lunar New Year, as well as its 6-month anniversary.
Ngon, meaning “delicious”, features a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes in a festive and bright setting. The space includes a twelve-seat bar, a spacious dining room, and a patio for those who wish to dine outdoors during this time. Enjoy the peek, then head down to eat.
