Sigel’s is getting into the food truck act and doing their part to support these burgeoning businesses by hosting a variety of trucks starting with Nammi the mobile Vietnamese fusion cuisine people June 9, 2011. The Vietnamese truck will serve lunch from 11:30 to 1:30, then dinner from 5:00 to 8:00 that same evening at the 5757 Greenville Ave location.
In addition to the food truck Sigel’s will take advantage of what should be a hopping crowd and will also host a wine tasting with David O’Reilly, owner/winemaker of Owen Roe winery in Oregon from 5-7pm. The crisp acidity of Oregon Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are perfect for pairing with the vibrant, exotic flavors of Vietnamese cuisine.
Nammi is one of the very first gourmet food trucks to hit the streets of Dallas and the only one to feature Vietnamese fusion cuisine. Chefs Teena Nguyen and Gary Torres’ Nammi Truck introduce traditional Vietnamese cuisine with Texan Southwestern influences featuring their signature dish – Bánh Mì. Bánh Mì is a traditional Vietnamese sandwich, made on a fresh baguette and filled with your choice of meat, cucumbers, garlic mayo and a pickled daikon and carrot medley. They’ll also be serving Spring Rolls and Chef Teena’s Texas take on the Vietnamese taco which includes a red cabbage medley, meat and special sauces.
If you recall, just months ago Brian Luscher from The Grape hosted a truck outside the restaurant on Greenville as well. We would like to see more of this spirit of cooperation flying about complimentary businesses to assist these entrepreneurs who have invested heavily in their equipment, making Dallas a better food destination.

Miami has really endorsed the food trucks with almost nightly events. Some of the food is really good
