Fatted Calf to Open in Rockwall

by Steven Doyle

The long opened Old Timers at 112 E Rusk in Rockwall has closed only to make way for Fatted Calf that will open soon. The Fatted Calf is owned by Zanata chef Edward Grieb and the two restaurants are within walking distance of each other in downtown Rockwall.

The Fatted Calf will be open all day, serving breakfast and lunch with a menu that should suit all tastes and pocketbooks with lunch service offering such interesting fare as hand made ravioli, crawfish deviled eggs and Korean short ribs. You may also find down home plates of fried chicken and a sturdy cheese burger.

Dinner will be available twice a month with a set menu. The menu will have a fixed price and feature produce, meats, and cheeses from Texas. Eventually dinner will expand to Thursday Friday and Saturday nights.

Grieb wanted to make the restaurant as affordable as possible so families could dine out often but still enjoy a good farm to fork quality that his other restaurants are known for.  This restaurant only adds to the growing list of quality dining available in Rockwall.
