Vegan Event Wildly Successful

For those attending the special event sponsored by craveDFW and benefiting Hope for the Silent Voices, the organization that proactively helps children in need across the globe, we wish to thank each of you for sharing the evening with us.

Having been on the other side of these types of events weekly we were able to gather a special insight to the details, all great and small that go into running such a venture.

The all-vegan food event was superbly handled in a culinary sense by rock-n-roll chefs Matt McCallister, Randall Copeland from Restaurant Ava, and David Anthony Temple who is best known for his underground dinners. The cocktails for the evening were also chef driven and created by Cody Sharp from Stephan Pyles, along with the incredible bartenders from Lemon Bar.

Speaking of bars, Deep Ellum Brewery was kind enough to show up with a crew to serve and discuss beer with the crowd. When we introduced them they received a huge applause. Seems Dallas really enjoys their beer.

Who said vegan food had to be a salad?

The many volunteers that staffed the event were the hardest working people I could possibly imagine. At one point we had women in cocktail dresses and heels washing glassware to the raging tunes of DJ Bryan C (who incidentally was the official DJ for the Mavericks victory party at the parade – and long time craveDFW contributor).

The entire evening would not have been possible with the loving donation of the venue from Sharon Van Meter who allowed me to test our friendship last evening. She is the force behind Milestone Culinary Arts Center  that hosts cooking classes, menu development, corporate team building efforts and events such as this almost nightly.

Thank you again from all the staff at craveDFW. We hope everyone enjoyed the evening. Lets do it again soon!
