Apprentice with Tre Wilcox

by Jerry Stewart

Top Chef fans have the unique opportunity to get in the kitchen with the Marquee Grill Executive Chef and Top Chef Allstar Tre Wilcox. A weekend in the kitchen with Tre is up for auction at CharityBuzz to benefit the Bridge Breast Network through February 29. The winning bidder will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend 2 days (Friday-Saturday) in the kitchen in Dallas, TX with Wilcox. And after training, Wilcox’s new apprentice and a guest will enjoy a Chef’s Tasting on Saturday night.

Charitybuzz gives its bidders exclusive opportunities to make a difference and live their dreams through online charity auctions with celebrities and luxury brands.

Wilcox worked in fast food at 17 and then landed a position at Eatzi’s, (where he worked his way up to corporate trainer). He participated in Brinker’s rigorous training, worked at Toscana restaurant and got a gig at Abacus (going from grill cook to sous chef to chef de cuisine), before attending The Culinary Institute of America in Greystone, California.

Wilcox was nominated as the James Beard Foundation’s Rising Star Chef for two consecutive years. He attended Alain Ducasse’s training center in Paris, appeared on Top Chef Season 3 and on Iron Chef America.

The Bridge Breast Network saves lives by providing access to diagnostic and treatment services for breast cancer to low income, uninsured individuals.
