Sneak Peek: A Place at Perry’s

We were invited guests last evening at a preview party and fund raiser at the new Place at Perry’s on Cedar Springs. Through out the evening patrons were able to make donations and purchase raffle tickets from wandering servers with Ipads, with proceeds benefiting KIPP DFW.

The Knowledge Is Power Program (KIPP), is a national network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public schools with a track record of preparing students in underserved communities for success in college and in life.  Over 85 percent of KIPP alumni have gone on to college.        

More than anything we were excited to check out what promised to be an extremely beautiful restaurant. We were not disappointed.  From the tall ceilings, sleek lines and the stand out chandelier the Crimson Cascade created by Grapevine glass blower David Gappa that lights the 35-foot tall rotunda, the space is breathtaking.

There is also a back bar that will have its own entrance that will feature amazing cocktails that reminded us of Chicago’s Aviary. Some of the promised drinks include large ice spheres filled with various concoctions, and one that is magnetized to create a vortex.

Last November we sampled many of the new menu items and you can read about those here.  We reported that the Place at Perry’s would open its doors today, but last evening they said they have moved that date to February 24, 2012. Such is life when opening a restaurant.
