Dining Out In Dallas April 2

Mo-Connorby Jennifer Thomas

Sharpen the knives, fire up the burners and ready the forks: Dallas’ best chefs are prepping for the epic Battle of the Chefs™ challenge, led by Mo Assi, Executive Chef of The Capital Grille Uptown. The occasion is “Dining Out in Dallas,” the signature fundraising event for the Texas Neurofibromatosis (NF) Foundation®, to be held on April 2.  Mo Assi will be joined by ten year old Connor, chosen by the foundation as this year’s junior chef and NF hero.

Now in its 19th year, “Dining Out in Dallas” offers attendees a chance to mingle with some of Dallas’ best chefs and sample their house specialties while raising funds to increase awareness and support NF patients and their families.

During the event, guests vote for their favorite dish of the night and give their nod to the best chef, who takes home the coveted traveling trophy and a year’s worth of bragging rights.  Additionally, a silent auction, live auction and raffle will round out the night with exciting dining and entertainment opportunities along with an oil on canvas designed and painted exclusively for this year’s event by artist Carrie Cameron.

“Dining Out in Dallas, Battle of the Chefs” will be held on April 2 at the Frontiers of Flight Museum from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance on the Dining Out in Dallas website for $75 each or at the door for $100. Proceeds from the event will benefit those living with NF, which affects an estimated 100,000 Americans nationwide, more prevalent than cystic fibrosis, Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Huntington’s disease combined.

Sampling restaurants include:

  • The Capital Grille Uptown (Host Restaurant)
  • Dakota’s Steakhouse
  • Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House
  • Dragonfly Restaurant Modern American Kitchen
  • Eddie V’s Prime Seafood
  • Meso Maya
