This past Sunday, some of Dallas’s most well known bartenders and mixologists gathered at DEC on Dragon to showcase the best cocktails in town. Attendees of the Chefs for Farmers Mix Off were each allotted two pig-shaped tokens to be used to vote for the best cocktail and food dish of the evening. Below is a list of winners of the night.

Taking home the Judges’ Choice sous chef award was Wheelhouse’s own Cody Sharp. Sharp wow’d the judges with his signature take on the breakfast taco. Wheelhouse’s taco was packed with a chorizo-spiced, smoked beef rib, field pepper salsa & confit egg yolk emulsion.

Zaytinya’s Joe Rojas pleased the crowd with his pureed and compressed carrot dish. Although the trek from Frisco may have been long, it was most certainly worth it, as Rojas left with the People’s Choice Sous Chef award.

Representing East Dallas and the White Rock Lake district was Lounge Here’s Jones Long, who won the Judge’s Choice Mixologist award for her signature Summer’s Envy cocktail. The Summer’s Envy cocktail consists of Patrón Silver, Patrón Pineapple Citronge, Vanilla Bean-infused St. Germain, and lemon juice.

Despite only opening in Victory Park less than three months ago, Billy Can Can proved to be a crowd favorite with the Pasture Party cocktail. Bartender Drew Garison won the People’s Choice Patrón Mixologist award for the night, with a cocktail consisting of earl grey tea and Texas pecan-infused Patrón Reposado, Patrón Citronge Orange, fresh lemon juice, and Texas clover honey.

Throughout the next two months, Chefs for Farmers will be hosting multiple events, leading to The Main Event on November 4th, which will showcase a variety of dishes based with locally sourced ingredients prepared by Dallas’s top chefs.
