Former local Tex-Mex haunt, Primo’s Tex-Mex will reopen in its original Uptown Dallas location late this summer as an evolved concept, Primo’s MX Kitchen & Lounge. Diners can expect an elevated bar program and chef-driven Tex-Mex cuisine that integrates authentic, bold flavors with fresh ingredients.

Mehrdad Moayedi, president and CEO of Centurion American Development Group, has brought on Jeffrey Kollinger, CEO of Spice of Life Catering and Tillman’s Bishop Arts, as operating partner of Refined Hospitality Group – a newly formed company over Primo’s MX Kitchen & Lounge and other upcoming restaurant concepts to be announced in the coming months.

“When it comes to menu development, operations and a superb customer experience, Jeffrey and his team seamlessly execute,” said Moayedi. “I’m excited to see Primo’s reinvented into a refreshed experience that will resonate with the expectations of today’s diners.”

The elevated menu will give restaurant-goers their favorite Tex-Mex dishes but with a customized, chef-driven edge and a strong emphasis on incorporating fresh, healthy ingredients.

“Primo’s MX Kitchen & Lounge brings a fresh take on an old favorite with inspirations ranging from the border of Texas to Southern Mexico,” said Kollinger.  “We’re dedicated to chef-driven meals with authentic ingredients and healthier options – all wrapped up in a neighborhood feel that brings family, food and drinks together.”

Stuffed Jalapeños Lightly Fried Jalapeños stuffed with Smoked Chicken and Asadero Cheese

Enchiladas Verdes Y Crema  House-Smoked Chicken, Queso Oaxaca, Cilantro, Onion, topped with salsa verde and house-made sour cream sauce

Primo’s MX Kitchen & Lounge will also boast a custom bar menu handcrafted by Robert Hall, Vice President of Operations for Refined Hospitality Group. Hall will oversee operations and beverage program development for all upcoming restaurants under the Refined Hospitality Group umbrella.

“We plan to bring back a few nostalgic drinks offered at the former Primo’s, but we’ve designed a new cocktail menu that’s approachable to the masses, features a mixology edge and is light and refreshing,” said Hall.  “The bar atmosphere and drink specials were a big part of Primo’s past, and we’re excited to make that a pillar of the new concept.”

In addition to margarita variations, the beverage menu will feature refreshed cocktails such as:

Anejo Highball  Bacardi Ocho Anos Gran Reserva Rum, Pierre Ferrand Ancienne Methode Dry Curacao, Angostura Bitters, Ginger Beer
Anillo de Fuego  Serrano-infused Tequila Blanco, pineapple, fresh lime juice, Canela Bitters
Belini Blues  Blueberry Compote, Vodka, Red Bull Blue, Citrus Juice, Simple, House-made Lemon Whipped Cream

The restaurant space will feature a welcoming ambiance seating approximately 130 guests inside and 40 on the patio. In the coming months, happy hour specials, final menus and grand opening event plans will be announced. Primo’s MX Kitchen & Lounge will be located at 3309 McKinney Avenue, Dallas, TX 75204.
