Legacy Hall says auf wiedersehen to traditional Oktoberfest events with the second-annual Oktoberfeast, a signature, three-day beer and music festival held September 27-29, 2019. In celebration of all-things beer, brats and bands, all three floors of Legacy Hall and the Box Garden will be transformed into a biergarten atmosphere complete with yodeling, accordion players, oom-pah music and more.
Guests can dine on authentic German-inspired dishes like German Bratwurst and Jumbo Soft German Pretzels from the Degenhardt’s Brat House pop-up or opt for their Degenhardt’s Schnitzel Plate, available all weekend and the week leading up to the event. Whisk & Eggs will offer a German Swiss Cheese Crepe for the weekend, and Forno Nero will serve a German Chocolate Calzone and German-style Pizza. Guests can also enjoy Paulaner Oktoberfest Marzen for that weekend only, a beer known for being one of the most popular each year at Oktoberfest in Germany.
The Oktoberfeast festival will take over all three stories of Legacy Hall including Unlawful Assembling Brewing Co. (3rdfloor) and the Box Garden; all located at 7800 Windrose Ave. in Plano.

Friday, September 27: Brewery Open House and Music from Elena Fainshtein Together Accordion Duo & Alpine Village Band
To kick off Oktoberfeast, Unlawful Assembly Brewing Co. will host a brewery open house beginning at 6 p.m. with tours taking place at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Additionally, the brewery will tap The Antagonist, a traditional Marzen Style brew with specialty malts and barley from Germany, to offer samples to guests. Beer-lovers interested in a true German-inspired experience can purchase a limited edition, souvenir beer stein for $5 (or $11 with beer) to refill with their favorite beer throughout the weekend, including Oktoberfest favorites like Samuel Adams Octoberfest, Paulner Oktoberfest Marzen and Unlawful Assembly’s The Antagonist. Elena Fainshtein Together Accordion Duo takes the Box Garden stage 6:45 p.m. followed by Dallas-Fort Worth’s favorite German Band, The Alpine Village Band, who hits the stage at 9 p.m. to play traditional polkas, waltz’s and more! A DJ will begin at 11 p.m. to keep the party going throughout the night. ***This general admission event is FREE to attend, except for the brewery tours which are available for $15 and include two beers and a souvenir glass with purchase of a ticket.
Saturday, September 28: Brewery Tours, Steinholding Contest, Bavarian Hair Crowns and All-Day Live German Music
The day begins with behind-the-scenes tours of Unlawful Assembly Brewing Co. starting at 1 p.m. (first-come, first-served basis) along with a live performance by Honkytonk Country band Squeezebox Bandits in the Box Garden (1 – 3 p.m.). At 3 p.m. the Samuel Adams Beer Steinholding Contest will allow beer-drinking fans to flex their muscles and compete on the Box Garden stage.Advance registration is required at the Hall Guide Desk the day-of. Souvenir beer steins will be available all day for $5 while supplies last. Authentic German live music enhances the festival’s ambiance beginning at 4:30 p.m. with Ennis Czech Boys, followed by Swiss Longhorn Quartet – a traditional Alphorn performance seldom heard in the United States – and Czech and Then Some. Sunday, September 29: Family Fun Day and NFL Watching Party
Bring the kids for fun family activities including face painting and a German braid bar in the Box Garden, as well as German-inspired family entertainment performing throughout the day. From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. a Bavarian Hair Crown Pop-Up by The Head Shop TX, along with a German Hair Braiding Bar by Johnny Rodriguez, and a face painter will entertain kids in the Box Garden. At 12:15 p.m. a kids yodeling competition will take place in the Box Garden, followed by a German spelling bee at 3:15 p.m. Advance registration for Yodeling & Spelling Bee is required at the Hall Guide Desk the day-of. Live entertainment will kick off with Grammy Award-Winning band, Brave Comboat 1 p.m. Sport fans can enjoy NFL action on the big screen in the Box Garden with Cowboys v. Saints at 7:20 p.m. ***Seating is first-come, first-served for this FREE event.
