A North Texas legend since 1993, Taste Addison dishes out the best food and flavor with a healthy side of jam. The region’s original food festival continues to deliver Addison’s favorite eateries, national music artists, and activities for the whole family with a full menu of fun. Due to the pandemic, the 2020 festival did not happen, but will return in 2021 to Addison Circle Park on Friday, June 4 and Saturday, June 5.
This year promises a can’t-miss celebration of food and music. With more restaurants per capita than any city in the US, Addison is known for food. Taste Addison guests can sample fare from a wide array of classic Addison dining destinations as well as notable newcomers. In addition to meal-sized munchies, each restaurant will sell one or more Taste Bites – smaller portions of favorites available for $3 or less per item.
For nearly 30 years, Taste Addison has brought an exciting and innovative array of music to North Texas. Musical entertainment will take place on two stages this year. The Main Stage will host an impressive collection of national performers, headlined by five-time Grammy nominee Flo Rida on Friday and Billboard Music Award winners Third Eye Blind on Saturday. The CBS11 Legends Stage will feature regional tribute bands and local singer-songwriters.
The festival grounds at Addison Circle Park will be full of family fun. Shoppers can stroll the marketplace featuring booths selling everything from décor and jewelry to specialty food items. The Discovery Depot will offer presentations and craft activities that will rotate throughout the day, along with free balloon twisting. Kids 12 and younger will clamor to enter the Adventure Grove, a specially ticketed play area with games, attractions, a petting zoo and more.
To reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread at the festival, attendees will be required to wear face coverings over their nose and mouth except while seated. Hand sanitizer stations will be placed throughout the festival grounds and high-touch surfaces will be cleaned regularly. Social circles will be marked at both stages to identify designated seating areas, and multiple spaces throughout the park will feature distanced tables to allow for safe dining.
“Over two dozen Addison restaurants will serve up tasty bites for every palate, and Taste Addison’s musical entertainment offers something for everyone,” said Jasmine Lee, Addison’s Director of Special Events. “We’re so happy to be bringing back this legendary lineup of food, music and fun for 2021.”
