Registration Opens TOMORROW for Addison Oktoberfest’s Dachshund Dash (Oktoberfest Info)

At Addison Oktoberfest, which runs this year from Sept. 15-18, Sunday is Sunday Hund-Day, and German dog breeds are recognized and celebrated. While personal pets are not permitted, there’s plenty of furry fun to enjoy. Cheer on some tiny racers at the Dachshund Dash (advance, online registration here is required to participate). Then, meet some dogs and learn about some of the many breeds that originated in Germany at the German Dog Showcase.

Each year, people come to Addison Oktoberfest to revel in German culture, food, music and bier, enjoying a taste of the original Oktoberfest with a purely Texan twist. The four-day festival has been recognized as one of the most authentic Oktoberfest celebrations outside of Munich since its inception more than three decades ago.

About Addison Oktoberfest

Named one of the country’s most authentic Oktoberfest celebrations by Forbes and USA Today, Addison Oktoberfest features four days of family-oriented entertainment. German entertainers in authentic costumes perform traditional Bavarian folk dances, oompah music, sing-a-longs, yodels and more. A special “Oktoberfest” Paulaner Bier is served along with several types of German sausage, schnitzel, sauerkraut, strudel, giant pretzels and more. There are interactive games, dachshund races and children’s entertainment. Wear your lederhosen or dirndls for even more fun.
