Patrick Kennedy’s Now Open in Downtown

Drinkers & diners will find delight in the new watering hole located at the bottom floor of Dallas’ Downtown Westin. Newcomer, Patrick Kennedy’s Irish Pub, has officially opened its doors at 1201 Main Street #100.

While the bar may be new in name, the team behind the concept is no novice to Irish pubs as they are behind many sister concepts throughout the metroplex including Playwright Irish Pub, The Crafty Irishman Public House, Trinity College Irish Pub and Cannon’s Corner Irish Pub.

Though one of the sister pubs sits right down the street on the other side of Downtown Dallas, owner Alan Kearney doesn’t fear any cannibalization but rather an expansion of new customers as Kennedy’s provides more space.

The pub, at 6,500 square feet, boasts a large high bar, table & booth seating, and a wrap-around outdoor patio. Kearney and his team built out wood walls separating the space into rooms to give a cozy pub atmosphere to the large downtown lot. With fireplaces and Irish paraphernalia donning the walls, the interior feels like a historian collector’s dream with something of interest filling every nook and cranny and providing a warmth throughout the space.

“This location is a great spot for our concept! We’ve been waiting for something of this size for a while. A lot of people fear Downtown Dallas real estate, but we see it as the front door to Dallas! Kennedy’s is nestled into a corner that welcomes many tourists into Dallas with hotels and visiting attractions all around,” says Kearney. “We aim to be the spot for residents, downtown workers and traveling tourists. A melting pot of customers—giving a wink to the American dream!”

Patrick Kennedy’s Irish Pub pays homage to JFK’s great-grandfather, Patrick Kennedy, and his immigrant story to America. The future President of the United States running through Kennedy’s bloodline all because of his bold dream and departure from his homeland. A symbol of the possibility of the American dream and one mirroring the restaurant’s owner’s personal story of immigrating to the U.S.

Kennedy’s menu boasts bar-favorite bites alongside standout dishes including French Onion Soup served in a hollowed-out onion & Pub Chicken and Mushroom Vol Au Vents served in a puff pastry. Irish comfort staples grace the menu including Traditional Irish Breakfast, Scotch Eggs, New Ross Sheperd’s Pie and Howth Beer-Battered Fish and Chips flown in weekly. Weekend-goers can munch on brunch with a smattering of traditional brunch offerings to round out the pub heavy fare.

Happy Hour is a mainstay at this drinking destination, but dwellers will enjoy more than just a typical draught! Discounted beverage offerings include Irishman Red Ale pints, domestic bottled beers, house wines, well liquor as well as specialty drinks like the Irish Mule, Car Bomb, Green Tea shots and Baby Guinness Shots available from 2 – 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Discounted bites include Galway Bay Mussels, Corned Beef & Cabbage Rolls, Irish Nachos, Public House Pretzel, Boneless Wings and Spicy Wisconsin Cheese Curds available from 2 – 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
