Dallas-area taco and tequila lovers have something to look forward to this new year. Chído Taco Lounge is coming to town, opening its second location at 75 and Walnut Hill in the Preston Hollow Village Shopping Center. It’s slated to open in time for Cinco de Mayo in May 2024.
Chído, which means “cool” in Spanish, debuted in Frisco in 2021. Since then, it’s become a local favorite for tacos, cervezas and tequilas, all served in a friendly and unpretentious atmosphere. Those tenets will carry over to the Dallas location, but the Preston Hollow Village spot will build on the original with a two-story space featuring a members-only tequila lounge on the second floor.
The restaurant will serve customer favorites, including classic and modern street tacos — everything from chicken tinga and barbacoa to jerk chicken and Korean barbecue — as well as salads, quesadillas, nachos, guacamole, and elote. The bar complements the food menu with cold beers, fresh Margaritas and an extensive tequila selection. And the new Dallas location is doubling down on agave spirits, with its high-end tequila lounge, which will stock coveted bottles and host exclusive tasting events for members.
“The response to our concept in Frisco has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’re so proud of what we’ve built. Now we’re excited to expand our operations to Dallas, where we can share our brand of fun-loving food and polished service with a new community of guests,” says Chído Taco Lounge owner Blaine McGowan.
Chído Taco Lounge will be located at 7949 Walnut Hill Lane, Suite 130 in Dallas at the Preston Hollow Village Shopping Center. For more information, including menus, please visit chidodfw.com.
All last year, Chído Taco Lounge’s monthly tequila dinners were some of the hottest tickets in town. Now, the fun-loving restaurant and bar is picking up right where they left off with their first tequila dinner of the new year.
On January 23, Chído will host a four-course dinner featuring El Tequileño. Known as “Mexico’s best-kept secret,” El Tequileño has roots dating back to 1959, but the brand only recently began to share its tequilas with the U.S. This is your chance to sip the award-winning portfolio alongside a delicious meal. The progressive dinner will include a variety of fresh flavors and ingredients that highlight the terroir-driven spirits.
