After a distinguished 15-year run as one of Dallas’ most influential establishments for craft beer and elevated brasserie fare, Meddlesome Moth will close its doors on May 22, 2025. The closure marks the end of an era for the Design District, where the restaurant served not only as a pioneer but as a cultural anchor in the neighborhood’s transformation.

Founded in 2010 by hospitality visionaries Shannon Wynne and Keith Schlabs—the duo behind Flying Saucer and Rodeo Goat—Meddlesome Moth was the first culinary tenant in the then-nascent Design District. The space, formerly home to the Ann Sacks Tile showroom, was reimagined with a bold aesthetic sensibility, most memorably embodied by the trio of reclaimed stained glass portraits of Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, and Elvis Presley, salvaged and restored from Dallas’ former Dallas Hard Rock Cafe. These panels quickly became visual signatures of the Moth’s idiosyncratic charm, set against a backdrop of ambitious culinary programming and a trailblazing beer list.
Over the years, Meddlesome Moth cemented its reputation as a national destination for aficionados of craft beer. It played host to industry luminaries including Adam Avery (Avery Brewing), Ken Grossman (Sierra Nevada), and Garrett Oliver (Brooklyn Brewery), whose presence underscored the restaurant’s stature within the broader brewing community. In 2012, respected author and beer critic Stephen Beaumont, co-author of The World Atlas of Beer, named the Moth among his favorite beer destinations worldwide.
To honor its legacy, Meddlesome Moth will present a weeklong celebration from April 20–25, dubbed April Ale Week, featuring a rotating slate of Meet the Brewer happy hours from 4 to 7 p.m. The lineup includes Dallas-based standouts Celestial Beer Works (April 21), Manhattan Project Beer Company (April 23), and Peticolas Brewing Company (April 25).
A final Bon Voyage Brunch is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, offering a menu of brunch specials in a yacht rock-inspired atmosphere. Reservations are strongly encouraged and available via OpenTable.
