Café Momentum in Dallas invites guests to a remarkable evening honoring Juneteenth with a chef takeover by the acclaimed Chef Dominick Lee. Taking place on Wednesday, June 18 at 6 p.m., this one-night-only celebration promises a deeply meaningful experience rooted in culture, cuisine, and community.
Chef Lee has crafted an exclusive three-course menu for the occasion, highlighting his signature culinary style and bold flavors. The evening’s offerings will include Gombo Africana, Muffuletta Porchetta, and a decadent Sweet Potato Pecan Pie for dessert. Each dish will be artfully paired with a curated selection of craft beers, fine wines, and sparkling options, ensuring a polished and elevated dining experience.
More than just a meal, the event celebrates the mission of Café Momentum: transforming the lives of justice-involved youth through culinary training, education, and mentorship. Chef Lee will work alongside Café Momentum’s interns and resident chefs, offering guests not only exceptional food but also a moving glimpse into the power of second chances.
Originally from New Orleans, Chef Dominick Lee brings deep Creole influences and a rich cultural perspective to his cooking. After relocating to Texas following Hurricane Katrina, he trained at The Art Institute of Houston and became the first recipient of the prestigious Underbelly Scholarship, awarded by James Beard Award-winner Chris Shepherd. His impressive career includes time in the kitchens of Alinea, Next, and Blue Hill at Stone Barns, along with leadership roles at Poitín Bar & Kitchen and Kiran’s in Houston.
