A Dallas favorite is making a comeback: Nora Restaurant and Bar, the acclaimed Middle Eastern spot from chef-owner Matt Pikar, will reopen this fall at Sylvan Thirty, taking over the former Whisk Crepes space at 1888 Sylvan Rd.
Nora previously operated for six years in Bishop Arts before closing in May when its lease expired. That location—once home to an incarnation of Afghan Grill Pikar opened in 2007—will soon house Elia, a Greek restaurant from the team behind Selda Mediterranean.

Nora originally debuted in 2012 on Greenville Avenue before moving to Bishop Arts in 2019. Over the years, it earned praise for dishes like chicken korma, dolma, ginger shrimp ceviche, lamb chops, and beef dumplings with yogurt and tomato sauce.
This Fall the new location will preserve some fan favorites but introduce a refreshed menu focused on tapas-style plates, burgers, and a rotating seasonal lineup. “We want to offer something for everyone, whether it’s pasta or a burger,” says Pikar. The bar program will include cocktails like an orange blossom margarita and a chai carajillo made with espresso, chai, and rum.
Whisk Crepes, which had occupied the Sylvan Thirty space since 2015, recently relocated to Bishop Arts, in a fitting twist of neighborhood shuffle.
Pikar chose the new location to stay close to regulars.
