Loro Asian Smokehouse & Bar and RACHO Mezcal Celebrate Día de los Muertos with One-Night-Only Pairing Dinner

This October, East Dallas’ Loro Asian Smokehouse & Bar is teaming up with RACHO Mezcal Artesanal for a truly special culinary evening. On Thursday, October 23rd at 6 p.m., guests will experience a four-course chef-curated menu paired with handcrafted mezcal cocktails, celebrating the flavors and traditions of Día de los Muertos.

Chef de Cuisine Juan Carlos Mejorado has crafted an inventive menu that blends Loro’s signature Asian smokehouse techniques with seasonal and festive ingredients. Each course will be paired with cocktails from RACHO Mezcal founder Matthew Ornstein, who will guide diners through the tasting, sharing insights into the history, flavor profiles, and artistry behind each pour.

The evening begins with a Strawberry Crudo—compressed strawberries with tomato water and microgreens—paired with the “Pimentón” mezcal cocktail, a bright and smoky combination of lime, bell pepper, and agave. Next, guests will enjoy Smoked Corn, featuring elote coins with caramelized onions and smoked salt crema, alongside “Fuego Verde”, a lively mix of mezcal, orange liqueur, habanero-cilantro-cucumber syrup, and lime.

The main course showcases Loro’s flair for bold flavors: Smoked Airline Chicken Mole, served with Japanese mole, pickled red onions, sesame seeds, and cilantro over white rice. This is complemented by “Golden Mirage”, a refreshing cocktail blending mezcal, limoncello, passion fruit-mint syrup, lemon, and orange. The evening concludes with a decadent Flan topped with candied five-spice peanuts and a mezcal caramel drizzle, paired with “Abuelita’s Espresso Martini”, combining mezcal, coffee liqueur, espresso, and Abuelita’s hot chocolate syrup.

Tickets are $75 per guest (excluding tax and 20% gratuity), offering a unique opportunity to savor Loro’s signature smokehouse flavors while exploring the depth and complexity of artisanal mezcal.

Founded in 2018 by James Beard Award-winning Chef Tyson Cole and Pitmaster Aaron Franklin, Loro merges Asian flavors with Texas barbecue in a casual, communal setting. Guests can enjoy grilled and smoked meats with Southeast Asian and Japanese-inspired sauces, craft cocktails, boozy slushees, and a welcoming indoor/outdoor space perfect for gatherings. With locations in Austin, Dallas, Addison, and Houston, Loro has become a destination for adventurous food lovers seeking bold flavors and thoughtful hospitality.

This Día de los Muertos, Loro Asian Smokehouse & Bar and RACHO Mezcal invite diners to enjoy a night of flavor, tradition, and celebration—a perfect pairing of smoke, spice, and spirited cocktails.
