Dallas: Let’s Talk Michelin

Dallas just turned up the heat — and the culinary world is paying attention. The 2025 Michelin Guide has officially crowned two Dallas restaurants with its coveted stars, cementing the city’s place among the top dining destinations in America.

At the center of the buzz is Mamani, a French-Italian newcomer that’s made a meteoric rise. Open for barely seven weeks, the restaurant has already earned its first Michelin star — a feat that borders on historic. Behind the magic is Chef Christophe De Lellis, whose pedigree includes time with the late culinary legend Joël Robuchon in Las Vegas. Michelin’s inspectors praised Mamani for its “top-drawer ingredients, faultless technique, and world-class sauces.”

De Lellis’s menu is a love letter to refined comfort — elegant but not fussy. Think buttery Dover sole finished in nutty brown butter, veal “Cordon Bleu” paired with the silkiest pommes purée this side of Paris, and a Paris-Brest crowned with praline cream that makes dessert feel like an encore. It’s French precision meeting Italian warmth, all served in a room that hums with quiet confidence.

Meanwhile, Tatsu Dallas continues to shine in Deep Ellum, retaining its Michelin star for a second year. Chef Tatsuya Sekiguchi’s intimate omakase counter has become something of a pilgrimage for sushi lovers. Every course feels personal — each slice, brushstroke, and garnish executed with a poet’s care. Michelin lauded Tatsu’s “meticulous preparation and creative presentation,” and regulars know that dining here isn’t just a meal; it’s an experience.

This year’s Michelin Guide Texas 2025 recognizes 18 starred restaurants across the state, along with eight new Bib Gourmands and 16 fresh recommendations — a diverse culinary tapestry representing 33 cuisines. With Mamani’s stunning debut and Tatsu’s steady brilliance, Dallas is no longer chasing fine-dining greatness — it’s defining it.

One Dallas restaurateur earned a Michelin Special Award: Chas Martin, co-owner of Mister Charles, won a Michelin Exceptional Cocktails Award.

One Dallas newcomer was added to the “Recommended” list: Sushi Kozy, at 2000 Ross Ave., from former Uchi chef Paul Ko.

Its inspiring to see how the city is defining fine dining rather than chasing it.
