Uchiko Plano’s DFW Restaurant Week Menu is an Eight-Course Deal Worth Booking Early

Uchiko Plano is running an eight-course prix fixe for DFW Restaurant Week, August 10 through September 7, and at $99 a person it’s one of the stronger values on this year’s list given what’s actually on the menu. Uchiko is chef Tyson Cole’s fire-and-smoke offshoot of Uchi, the James Beard-winning sushi restaurant that’s been anchoring Austin’s dining scene since 2003, and the Plano location at Legacy West has built its own following since opening in 2024 without losing the technique that made the original worth the drive.

The Restaurant Week menu opens with a half order of hama chili, yellowtail with orange supremes and golden tobikko, followed by dry-aged hiramasa nigiri. From there it moves into an A5 wagyu temaki with charred negi and candied garlic, grilled suzuki in a brown butter dashi, and maguro nigiri topped with Kaluga caviar. A watarigani nigiri built on blue crab and brown butter leads into the Denver steak, finished tamari au poivre with charred greens and A5 sofrito, before the meal closes on a chocolate pretzel tart.

That’s a real tasting menu, not a scaled-down version of the regular one, and dine-in only. Reservations are open now through Uchiko’s site, and given how quickly a $99 wagyu-and-caviar menu tends to book up during Restaurant Week, this isn’t one to leave for the week of.

DFW Restaurant Week is in its 29th year, the second-longest-running restaurant week campaign in the country, and it benefits the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope, which provides counseling and education services for children and families. The event has raised close to $14 million for those two organizations since it started, and every reservation made through a participating restaurant’s Restaurant Week menu counts toward that total.

Uchiko Plano is at 7801 Windrose Ave., Suite H150, in Legacy West. Reservations and the full menu are available through Uchiko’s website, or by calling (214) 855-5454.
