Oak & Stone is getting into the Oktoberfest spirit a little early this year, and it’s doing it with beer cheese in nearly everything. Starting September 15 and running through October 31, the McKinney restaurant is rolling out a limited-time menu built around Bavarian classics with an Oak & Stone twist, which mostly means finding new ways to work Shiner Bock and beer cheese into the lineup.
The centerpiece is a jumbo Bavarian pretzel, served warm with Shiner Bock beer cheese and spicy mustard on the side, the kind of shareable starter that sets the tone for the rest of the menu. From there it gets more ambitious. The Prost Pizza takes Oak & Stone’s scratch-made dough and tops it with bratwurst, roasted peppers, caramelized onions, beer cheese, and Gouda, finished with a ranch drizzle that cuts through all that richness.
The Lil’ Chicken Schnitz turns schnitzel into slider form, three breaded chicken breasts dressed with Swiss cheese, pickled red cabbage, arugula, pickle chips, and dijonnaise, all stacked on pretzel buns. And the Munich Market Melt goes full sandwich, bratwurst and smoked Gouda with roasted peppers, caramelized onions, and beer cheese on a hoagie roll, served with sidewinder fries and more beer cheese for dipping.
Oak & Stone is also releasing a limited-edition OAKtoberfest stein for the occasion, redeemable through the restaurant’s app using loyalty points, for anyone who wants a souvenir to go with the meal.
It’s a fitting move for a restaurant built around its self-pour tap wall, where the beer pairing is never more than an arm’s length away. Oak & Stone opened its first Texas location in McKinney this past spring, with an Addison location on the way, and this fall menu is one more sign the brand is settling into North Texas rather than just testing the water.
The OAKtoberfest menu runs through October 31 at Oak & Stone, 8575 W. University Drive, Suite 150, in McKinney.
