Back in September we reported that Gene and Julie Gates were closing in on a location for their new rustic Italian restaurant. I was privileged to join them for a test run with a chef in their home and had a chance to discuss their plans. Yesterday Julie sent word that they would no longer be working at 103.7 after a long and successful eight year stint in this community and planned to stoke the restaurant fires a bit deeper and open sooner than expected. The latest news is from radioland where 103.7 Lite FM hosts Gene and Julie Gates reign supreme as a real life married couple that chat up early morning commuters with their witty banter and are the executive producers and talent of the Gene & Julie Show.
