Built in 1946, The Granada Theater is one of the oldest continuously operating theaters in Dallas. The current configuration as a music venue provides patrons with excellent sight lines to the raised stage.  In August of 2014, owner Mike Schoder will celebrate ten years of bringing music to Dallas from every part of the world. Mike has presided over a continuous upgrading of the sound, lighting and other facilities to make The Granada a great place to see any type of music.   Continue reading

Eat Me: Sundown at Granada’s Scallops

Pretty much everything from the kitchen at the Sundown at the Granada is a home run, including this beautiful plate of seared scallops.

Tomorrow we interview Patrick Stark, the rock and roll chef from the Sundown, and find out what he has been up to (besides plenty of television), and what he has planned for the near future at Sundown. It is a spirited interview with some new surprises, and a fun adventure with this fascinating chef.

Sundown at the Granada is the sister restaurant to the iconic Granada Theater, both located on Lower Greenville Avenue. The restaurant has a full menu and a dynamic cocktail program that affords diners a fantastic experience in the funky surroundings. The restaurant is outfitted in reclaimed wood and reflects the attitude of the neighborhood, which has a laid back shine and a bit of a party patina.

Free Live Music Nightly at Sundown at the Granada

The Sundown at the Granada is singing a new tune. Starting October 25, 2012 Sundown will feature live music nightly from 11pm to close with no cover charge. The national and local artists booked at Sundown will be of the same diversity and quality as Granada’s calendar. British Insect Invasion: Adam Ant Can Stand and Deliver a Knockout Show

It was 1984 reincarnated—well almost—as Adam Ant took the stage at the Granada after almost 30 years of mayhem and (in some cases) psychiatric madness. The of over 1,000 was ready to party: Antfans, some wildly dressed, hardly skipped a pogo beat as the Prince Charming pirate played 28 rocking songs including such crowd-pleasers as “Vive Le Rock” and “Goody Two Shoes.”

Bespectacled, still trim and dressed in his dandy Hussar jacket and high black feathered hat (alas, no white stripe across his cheeks and nose), the former Stewart Goddard looked like Johnny Depp meets King of the Wild Frontier.  Continue reading

Sarah Jaffe Commandeers Granada’s Facebook

The historic Granada Theater’s Facebook  page will be taken over by Singer/Songwriter, Sarah Jaffe starting at 12 midnight on Wednesday, April 25 until 12 midnight on Thursday, April 26th.  Sarah will have free range to post anything she wants on the Facebook page.  The Granada staff does not initally appear to be frightened.   Continue reading
