A Sneak Peek At Truck Park On Greenville Ave

DSC08771by Steven Doyle

If you have been around the construction of the new Trader Joes on Greenville Avenue you may have noticed across Sears Street to the south there is a little shack undergoing some renovations. Boso likens the new venture to a super cool clubhouse not too unlike the Little Rascals might have had if they could drink booze. Also sans that whole He-Man Woman Hater’s Club thing, too. We are pretty sure there will be plenty of women carousing around the Boso club.  Continue reading

jacksby Steven Doyle

Scott Jones likes his Jack’s Southern Comfort digs on Greenville Avenue, but he might be experiencing some growing pains. Today Jones sends word that he is looking for a new home, but will remain open at 1905 Greenville in Dallas until July 28, 2013.

“Many of my customers kept coming in saying how frustrated they were with our parking – and those are the folks who actually found a place and came in,” said Jones. “That’s no way to treat a guest! We had to figure out something else. Business keeps growing, especially among our take-home options and catering, so access has become more and more important.”    Continue reading

HG Sply Co., located at 2008 Greenville Ave in Dallas, will open to the public on Tuesday, May 21st.  HG Sply Co, created by Elias Pope and his partners Gus Antos, Mark Zahem, Neville Govender, is a neighborhood grill and bar that was influenced by the “back to basics” philosophy of the Paleo diet. “It’s simple,” explains owner Elias Pope, “80% fresh, flavorful food that fuels your day and 20% indulgent ‘cheat day’ food for days that you want to splurge.”

All menu items are natural and/or organic and local when possible, but always from small producing American ranchers.  The chicken is from Windy Meadows (Campbell, Texas), the eggs are from Vital Farms (Austin, Texas); several of the meats are from Local Yocal (McKinney, Texas) or Broken Arrow Ranch (Ingram, Texas) with vegetables and fruits coming from a number of local farmers including Amelia Farms (Bells, Texas) and more.  A specially made 8-seed bread will be delivered fresh daily from Esmeralda’s Bakery in North Dallas.   Continue reading
