Bonefish Grill is making its way to the DFW with its first stop in Southlake, Texas. Bonefish may sound like a choking hazard, but instead it’s a pretty nice and casual restaurant born in St. Petersburg, Florida in 2000. Catch Marlin Today At TJ’s
Jon Alexis, the outspoken fishmonger behind the counter at TJ’s Seafood Market sends word today that he has some unusual fish coming in to his shop today. A large shipment from Hawaii will include Pomfret (or Monchong), Marlin, Spearfish, Opah, Wahoo and several other species.
Pomfret is a firm fish with mild sweet flavor. Similar to Pompano. Great for anything from grilling to steaming. Continue reading

Driftwood Sailing With A Smooth Start

First Look: Driftwood
We were given a first look at the new Oak Cliff restaurant Driftwood just next door to Bolsa Mercado at 642 West Davis, in what was previous a dark Con Fusion, now owned by Jonn Baudoin. Baudoin graduated with an Industrial Design degree from the University of South Louisiana in Lafayette and has worked at many top restaurants in Dallas as General Manger including Dallas Fish Market, Nicola, Nikita, Salve and Mi Piaci.
The general theme of the menu is seafood and the restaurant’s overall feel, which was designed by Daniela Baudoin’s company Vision 360 Design, is brightened by sea-foam and cool woods, and sports a beautiful patio. Continue reading
