Soon you will have more brew options in Dallas’ sexy Uptown with a few new concepts about to emerge on the scene that will excite some and prove to others that our local economy is on the upswing.
In the old Maguires Uptown location we will soon be able to enjoy the beautiful Chicagoland import Primebar. Labeled as a contemporary ale house or urban lodge, Primebar is a bit elegant with sleek lines and warm tones and offers over 40 craft beers on tap and a decent wine selection. The menu is mostly of the two-fisted variety as you will find upscale burgers and sliders (imagine that) along with a few other notable entrees under the local and fresh moniker.
Currently there is one Chicago location, another in Scottsdale and two more in Florida. Makes sense to join the Dallas restaurant landscape.
Still in the same area we will soon find a retooling of the Hully and Mo’s space. There has been rumor mongering flying about what to do with this location located across from the Gingerman in Uptown for some time and it was reported to me yesterday that another Sherlock’s will soon define the space, or something similar owned by the Sherlock’s gang.
More likely the space will have a Brit theme our sources say.
And lastly, in the West Village Social House location (remember the pub that billed themselves as the first gastro-pub in Dallas) Matt Spiller of Eno’s and more recently Oddfellows (both in Oak Cliff’s Bishop Arts District) is said to be opening a 40-tap brew house. This is big news for this section of Uptown that lacks a great craft beer selection. Look for Union Bear soon.
More on all these new venues as the information flows.
