Win a Piece of Le Creuset

by Crave Staff

Le Creuset  is a global company that creates beautiful and functional cookware with pieces such as the cast iron wok, an Indian karahi dish, a Japanese sukiyaki pan, an Italian risotto pot and a Moroccan tagine. The most recognizable in the United States are the enamel over cast iron pieces found in better shops everywhere.

For the holidays we are offering the 9.5 quart French oven that is ideal for making soups and stews and comes with a lifetime warranty. Your new piece will last for many generations. The color is the very popular Flame.

Tell us what you might make with the French oven and we will place you in our drawing for this week. We will award the prize on Thursday, December 22, 2011 just in time for Christmas. You always wanted one, now is your chance. This piece is valued at $340.00.

Good luck!

I would truly love to win this French oven. I love to make soups and stews, but the one I would make first would be Gypsy Stew. I make a variation of the recipe of Moosewood’s, sweet potatoes, green beans, butternut squash just to start, cinnamon, cayenne, olive oil, garlic, bay leaves, and more. With my existing aluminum stock pot, I can make it well, but I am certain that Le Creuset’s French oven could make it taste even better!

  65. Lee

Ahh..Le Creuset…the cookware that put “sexy” back into the braise! Ive never owned a piece, but have had the pleasure of “borrowing” a piece here and there. To own a piece of cookware like this would be considered to be the icing to anyone’s cook ware inventory.
If I were to acquire this piece, I would invite my Mother in Law over to the house from El Paso, so that we could get into the kitchen together. This would be a great opportunity for her to teach me how to make the authentic Menudo and Pozole from Mexico. It would also give us an opportunity to cook together in the kitchen, and bring the family unit back together into the heart of the house.
From there, she would be able learn about using different styles and types of cookware, to be able to execute the same recipe, and having the same if not better results from it. When the caldo is finished, we can bring the cooking vessel to the table for the rest of the family to enjoy the beauty of it, and the goodness of what’s inside!

  66. AJB

What else ? Malbec braised oxtail with a veal feet added for extra richness. Can’t you taste it already ? and this is just a beginning as this LC baby would stay on my stove from October to March ! Bring it on .

  67. We are waiting for the drawing and should have a winner picked within an hour. Good luck to all who entered, and have a safe and happy holiday.

We are promised more prizes like this in the coming months, so stick around and read cravDFW every day.

  68. We have a confirmed the winner of our contest. We contacted Cheryl and she gave us her shipping information and will be the happy recipient of the new Le Creuset French oven. Congratulations.

In her email back to us she said, “I have never won anything ever in my life. I want to make something for ALL the Crave readers!”

How about Osso Bucco for 10,000, Cheryl? Have a great holiday, and thank you for all who entered. We are told we have an equally nice gift to give away in about a week. Stay tuned.
