Ten Bells Tavern Opening in Bishop Arts

by Steven Doyle

We just received word that another bar will be opening soon at 7th and Madison in the Bishop Arts District in North Oak Cliff and will be called Ten Bells Tavern.

“The name comes from a pub in London I enjoy with the same namesake. We had a lot of ideas about names and concepts, but once I saw the building, it just made sense. The place is a only shell now so all of this is a labor of love,” said Meri Dahlke from via email.

Dahlke said she was excited to be opening in the Bishop Art’s District and she has some ties already with the area having worked with Katherine Clapner at Dude, Sweet Chocolate.

“Our goal is to be a hang out spot there… kind of like Lee Harvey’s has become in the Cedars. We’ll have patio space and hope to have live music certain nights of the week too. Of course you know the area and we are really excited to join such a vibrant community.” continued Dahlke.

Dahlke projects the opening date  sometime in April.
