Do local Texas craft beers match up to or even surpass the classic beer styles of the world? Guests will have the opportunity to answer this question on the evening of Friday, October 24 at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse during the “Texas vs. the World” Beer Dinner as they sample local favorites and compare them to national and international brews. Special guest Melissa Monosoff, Beer expert and Master Sommelier, will guide guests through this epic showdown between the Lone Star State and the rest of the world.
In recent years the craft brewing industry has seen a major increase in production in the United States, particularly in Texas. Craft beers are unique because they are locally made and build upon classic beers styles from around the world to create distinctive flavor profiles. During the beer showdown at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse, guests will determine how the local Community Beer Company’s “Witbier,” with its lively notes of citrus and spices and minimal hops, compares to the “Wittekerke” from Bavikhove, Belgium, which has elements of malt and citrus. How will Lakewood Brewing Company’s “The Temptress” an imperial milk stout measure against the Brouwerij Lindemans “Framboise Lambic” from Vlezenbeek, Belgium?
Executive Chef James Johnson will pair these fifteen outstanding beers with four courses comprised of Pappas Bros. Steakhouse’s finest ingredients. Join us at this one-of-a-kind fall beer dinner as we raise a glass to local craft brews.
