The day we have been waiting for. June 1, 2015 will be here soon and we can all get our Uchi fix without having to make that trek to Austin.

We had a sneak peek this past week and the workers are busy doing their thing. Dallas Chef de Cuisine Nilton “Junior” Borges has his staff in place and they fired up their first dishes just days ago in training for the big day, and his staff is chock-full of many familiar faces. This is also true for the front of the house which was also hard at work familiarizing themselves with the Dallas menu.

Speaking of menus, the local version will be just slightly different than that of Houston of Austin, with some special twists to make things a bit more exciting. Make ours the omakase ten course tasting menu. We have a copy of the menu below in .pdf form.

Uchi showcases the culinary talents of executive chef and James Beard Award winner Tyson Cole. His exciting menu expands on the Japanese tradition with new flavors and innovative food combinations that ensure the most unique dining experience. Cole opened his second restaurant in Austin, Uchiko, in July 2010 and celebrated the release of Uchi the Cookbook in March 2011. His third restaurant, Uchi Houston, opened in 2012, and of course Uchi Dallas in just days.

Look for more Uchi Dallas  information here before the grand opening.
