Lavendou, our go to for all things French, is offering a beautiful wine dinner featuring Jonata and the Screaming Eagle family of wines. The dinner will be hosted February 28th with a reception beginning at 7pm.

Dedicated to expressing a range of red—and a handful of white—wines from its estate in the central coast of California’s Ballard Canyon (Santa Ynez Appellation), Jonata is one of a new breed of producers throughout the world who are thriving with a non-traditional amalgam of varieties and blends.

With a commitment in particular to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah, and informed by cutting edge viticulture, winemaking and a polyface approach to their estate, the Jonata wines are on the vanguard of an emerging quality movement in California winegrowing.

The evening will begin with a series of amuse bouches including house smoked salmon canapes and tuna tartare crostinis, served with the 2015 Jonata Flor Sauvingnon Blanc. the evening will progress with cognac sauteed gambas with tomato and creme fraiche and paired with a 2014 The Hilt Chardonnay.

You will also enjoy stuffed quail on polenta with the 2014 the Hilt Pinot Noir, and a roasted prime rib with a Jonata Todos wine reduction with a tomato provencal and wild mushroom ragout. Look for a 2013 Jonata Todos and the 2015 Jonata Fenis.
The evening concludes with a Belgium chocolate mousse cake with the 2013 Paring Red.

As per usual, entertainment is always provided at Lavendou – and not just on the plate. For reservations call 972.248.1911 (you should have this number on speed dial).
