South Side Ballroom today announced that it is undergoing a $1 Million renovation to upgrade the landmark venue located at 1135 South Lamar in the Cedars District just south of downtown Dallas. The remodel began in February and is set to be complete mid-to-late April.
“We are excited to partner with Live Nation on the renovation to improve the concert experience for both the artist and our fans,” said Jay Stewart, General Manager at Gilley’s Dallas. “The remodel will transform the intimate venue and enhance the live event experience for everybody that steps through the door.”
Anthony Nicolaidis, President of Live Nation Dallas, commented, “Our excitement for being involved with South Side Ballroom is increased greatly by the extensive renovation taking place. We look forward to many, many more years of bringing top talent to Dallas at this iconic venue.”
Since its opening in 2007, South Side Ballroom has hosted thousands of concerts and events including such acts like Bruno Mars, Slash, Demi Lovato, Kendrick Lamar, Imagine Dragons, Ms. Lauryn Hill and more. The 27,000 square foot venue can be scaled for several operating layouts, including 2500, 3400 and 4000 general admission capacity.
