Duro Hospitality, which includes Chas Martin, Benji Homsey, Corbin See, Ross See, and chef-partner J Chastain, and is known best for the beloved Design District hot spot The Charles, is proud to announce their next concept, Sister. Sister marks a new chapter in the location of the famed The Grape, a Dallas icon for over 40 years.

Situated on Lower Greenville, Sister will serve East Dallas and minutes from I-75 and Highland Park. This will mark Duro Hospitality’s first venture outside of the Design District, which has been home to The Charles since 2018. The team looks forward to bringing accessible yet elevated neighborhood fare to Greenville Ave. and to the East Dallas dining scene.

“The Grape was a Dallas staple for so many years, and we are honored to give this location a second life. The neighborhoods surrounding Greenville are so supportive of their local spots, and we can’t wait to experience it,” said Managing Partner Chas Martin. “Dallas has been so gracious and supportive of us over the past few years, and we’re excited to be growing here.”

Sister will appropriately function as the sister restaurant to The Charles, showcasing its signature “Italian-ish” inspired fare and served in an approachable, playful setting. J Chastain and Chef Matt Gold will serve a menu that consists of loosely Italian-inspired dishes, including wood-fired meats and fish, pasta, and light Mediterranean inspired cuisine. Sister will be open seven nights a week for dinner, plus brunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. To-go options will also be available.

Much like The Charles, Sister’s design elements will be a feast for the eyes featuring custom wallpaper and commissioned artworks. The talented Sees Design team spearheads the interior design of the lower Greenville restaurant.

“When designing the space, we imagined it as a family-owned restaurant that’s developed through the years as the family grew. There is a lot of collected memorabilia that will give the space a quirky and playful feeling,” said Corbin See, Managing Partner and one half of Sees Design. “We wanted it to be a relaxed, comfortable neighborhood spot for every day.”

Sister will open its doors in late September. Duro Hospitality is currently hiring for all positions. Bartenders, servers, line cooks, bussers, hosts, and others with a passion for hospitality can apply by emailing their resumes to careers@sempresister.com. Staff will have companywide perks, access to insurance, leadership training, and other benefits of a growing company.
