As crawfish season heats up across North Texas, Tasty Tails is once again reminding Dallas diners why its New Orleans–style boils have earned a loyal following. Now approaching its sixth year in Addison, the family-owned restaurant has remained a constant along Belt Line Road by staying true to what it does best: authentic Cajun cooking rooted in tradition. The menu reflects the dishes the owners grew up with—shrimp po’boys, boiled crawfish, Cajun chicken wings, and the ever-popular Mom’s gumbo.
Crawfish is treated with care and respect at Tasty Tails. Each sack is hand-sorted, then washed three times to remove every trace of mud before hitting the pot. The crawfish are boiled and soaked in a robust blend of Cajun seasoning, vegetables, fruits, and closely held family ingredients, delivering deep, bayou-style flavor from tail to head. For those who want a richer finish, the signature Who Dat Sauce—a Cajun garlic butter—adds an indulgent touch.

While tradition anchors the menu, Tasty Tails continues to expand. Standouts include charbroiled oysters topped with house-made garlic butter and Parmesan, grilled until bubbling and lightly charred. The Uptown Charbroiled Oysters add a scoop of blue crab for extra decadence. Favorites like chicken and sausage jambalaya egg rolls and seafood egg rolls filled with shrimp and crawfish round out the offerings.
More than a restaurant, Tasty Tails has become a neighborhood gathering place, hosting live music, football watch parties, and weekly karaoke on Thursdays from 6–10 p.m. with DJ Kevy Kev. This year’s celebrations include the restaurant’s first Tet (Vietnamese New Year) Party on February 16 and its annual Mardi Gras Party on Tuesday, February 17—both free events featuring food and drink specials, DJs, and giveaways.
