Maman opens its third Dallas-area location Friday, August 7, at Legacy East in Plano, marking another step in the French-inspired café’s steady expansion across North Texas since it first landed in Park Cities. The new spot joins that original location and the Lakewood café that opened in Hillside Village this spring, giving the brand a real foothold across three very different corners of the metro in under a year and a half.
The Legacy East café sits at 7200 Bishop Road, Suite D, with 2,650 square feet of interior seating for 78 guests plus a 430-square-foot patio that adds room for 34 more. It opens at 8 a.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. on weekends, running until 6 p.m. daily with the kitchen closing at 4 p.m. Co-founder Elisa Marshall pointed to Legacy East’s energy and sense of community as the draw for the location, and the design leans into the brand’s signature South of France provincial look, vintage furnishings, warm wood tones, and Maman’s recognizable blue toile details, with custom floral work from Floratorium built around the Texas bluebonnet for this specific location.
Maman’s menu runs on the same all-day format across every location, specialty pastries, salads, and sandwiches alongside its espresso and tea program, but the Legacy East café adds three Dallas-exclusive items to the lineup. The Magnolia Sweet Tea Fizz is a cold-steeped magnolia bud tea built on Topo Chico and sweetened with Texas wildflower honey syrup, finished with a lemon wedge and fresh mint. The Lone Star Cinnamon Bun is a fluffy pastry filled with cinnamon sugar and topped with a vanilla glaze and the brand’s signature pastry star, and the Salted Caramel Pecan Pie Roll swirls salted caramel and vanilla through a buttery pastry loaded with toasted Southern pecans.
The café will also carry a limited-time menu and product line from Maman’s ongoing collaboration with Martha Stewart, alongside the brand’s usual retail offerings, coffee, tea, matcha, its own cookbook, and nationwide cookie shipping.
Maman started in Soho in October 2014, founded by Elisa Marshall and Benjamin Sormonte, and the name, French for mother, reflects the recipes and childhood kitchen memories both founders built the concept around. What began as a single café has grown into 60 locations spanning New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and Canada.
Opening day starts with an 8 a.m. ribbon cutting, and the first 100 guests to make a purchase get a complimentary tote bag and a classic chocolate chip cookie. From 1 to 3 p.m., an on-site charm bar with Charmed Haven will hand out complimentary croissant charms to the first 50 guests who spend $15 or more.
Legacy East won’t be the last new Maman in North Texas either. A fourth location is already planned for The Seam, a 160,000-square-foot mixed-use redevelopment in the Design District at 1444 Oak Lawn Avenue, expected to open in late 2026 or early 2027 alongside the property’s broader debut.
The Seam, developed by Asana Partners and designed by New York’s Morris Adjmi Architects in the firm’s first Dallas project, will house roughly 45 spaces mixing upscale retail, design showrooms, and food and beverage tenants. Maman’s café there will run 2,467 square feet, laptop-free and reservation-free like its other locations, with a menu built around the nutty chocolate-chip cookie, loaded with dark chocolate chips and a mix of walnuts, almonds, and macadamia nuts, alongside croissants, kouign-amann, and two more Dallas-exclusive items: a Salted Caramel Pecan Pie Roll and a Cheesy Brisket Croissant Roll filled with tender brisket, cheddar, and herbs.
