Meet Sonic, a friendly, 71 pound, 4-year-old tan Terrier mix. He loves walks and he is easy to walk. In fact, he doesn’t even jerk at the leash. He loves treats and loves to be petted. The SPCA of Texas suggests that I may do best in a home without small children and without cats, because they cause him a little too much excitement. The SPCA of Texas also requires that you must bring in other dogs you own to “meet and greet” with him so that they can get to know each other first. He was surrendered to the SPCA of Texas on May 5 because his previous owner was moving. Continue reading

Meet Lucy, a beautiful, 6-year-old, 53 pound Hound mix. She has a gorgeous black, brown, and white coat with beautiful chocolate brown eyes. Lucy can be a little shy when she first meets people, but once she gets to know you, she is as sweet as can be. She is a pretty laid back lady who enjoys going for walks outside and does well on the leash. Lucy was surrendered to the SPCA of Texas on December 23rd because her previous owners had no time for a pet. According to her previous owner, she has previously lived with children. She has been spayed, Heartworm tested (she’s negative), micro-chipped, and received her age appropriate vaccinations. Would Lucy be the perfect addition to your family? SPCA Pet of the Week: Penelope and Damien
Meet Penelope, a gorgeous 2-year-old, 40-pound Terrier/American Pitt Bull mix who is looking for a forever home. She has a beautiful red and white coat with lovely caramel brown eyes. She is an athletic gal and loves to run, run, run! In addition to stretching her legs, she loves to bounce after tennis balls, play tug-o-war, and jump up for hugs. She always has fun no matter what she’s doing, and is sure to bring a smile to your face each and every day. Penelope is also pretty talented and already knows how to sit on command. She is so proud that she can do this that she jumps for joy afterwards. Since she loves being the center of attention, she would prefer to be the only dog in the house. That way, you have all the time in the world to properly dote on her. Continue reading

SPCA Pets of the Week
Meet Ester, a spunky 14-years-young, 27-pound Terrier mix who is looking for a family to call her own. Ester was surrendered to the SCPA of Texas on April 26 because, sadly, her previous owners moved to a place that does not allow pets. While her life has taken quite a turn, she is excited to start this new adventure with YOU. She is a running superstar and loves to jump and prance about the dog park. A perfect day for her includes taking a brisk walk around the neighborhood, chasing tennis balls, and snuggling up for a delightful nap in your lap.
While she is a fantastic family pet and has previously lived with children, she would prefer to be in a home without other dogs or cats. That way, she can be properly doted upon like the little princess that she is! In addition to being a feisty love-bug, she is also quite talented. Ester is the perfect lady on the leash, knows how to sit on command, and, drum roll, please… she is housetrained! Continue reading
