Cigars have a rich history that dates back to the indigenous peoples of the Americas, who cultivated tobacco for centuries before European contact. The Mayans were among the first to roll tobacco leaves into cylindrical shapes, which they smoked during religious ceremonies and social gatherings. When Christopher Columbus arrived in the New World in the late 15th century, he encountered this practice and brought tobacco back to Europe, sparking a fascination that would lead to the global cigar industry we know today.

Haywire is hosting a complimentary Cigar and Whiskey Social on Friday, October 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. Guests are invited to the restaurant’s third-level, rooftop patio to sip on some great Texas Whiskey from Garrison Brothers while enjoying puffs of the Haywire Signature Cigar, crafted by famed Cuban master blender Noel Rojas from Rojas Cigars.
