Dallas Association of Young Lawyers hosts the 3rd annual Food for Thought on Saturday, August 6 from 7pm-11pm at The Tower Club in downtown Dallas. Showcasing DFW’s finest Chefs and cuisine, Food for Thought benefits Big Thought, one of Dallas’ leading nonprofits dedicated to improving public education. Additionally, FOX Analyst and former Dallas Cowboy Daryl Johnston will receive DAYL’s Gavel of Excellence award for his significant contributions related to SLANT 45, the youth education program of the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee.
Food for Thought features more than a dozen chefs from our city’s finest establishments presenting signature “tastes” of their specialties during the evening. The event includes entertainment, silent and live auction and premium bar. Chefs and restaurants include John Tesar, The Commissary; Brian C. Luscher, The Grape; Tiffany Derry , Private Social; Matt McCallister, formerly of Stephen Pyles; Justin and Diane Fourton, Pecan Lodge; Scott Blankenship, The Tower Club; Samir Dhurandhar, Coal Vines and Nick and Sam’s; Lisa Garza, Taste Studio; Wilfredo Calderon, Chiloso Mexican Bistro, Khanh Dao, Pho Colonial with additional stations provided by Whole Foods and Artizone.
Each year, Food for Thought honors a local civic leader with the Gavel of Excellence award for significant contributions of service made to our community. This year’s recipient is
Daryl “Moose” Johnston will be honored with the coveted Gavel of Excellence Award for his work with SLANT 45: Service Learning Adventures of North Texas.

These are some great chefs..what a great and fun event.
This event is the weekend before my hubby’s birthday. If we got to go, it would be great (and would make us feel a bit better about not getting tickets to the Cafe Momentum event the following night.) If we win the tickets, we’ll make sure this very deserving charity gets some of our moolah in the silent auction…

This is an incredible cause that will be hosted by an incredible group of people and organizations! My boyfriend and I would be absolutely thrilled and honored to attend this wonderful event! I love silent auction’s and what better way to contribute to an awesome cause! We need more events like this in Dallas.
Big Thought does BIG work in the Dallas/Bachman Lake area! Would love to be there to support the mission of this agency.

This is such a “awesome” program & look at all the fanstatic chefs that are “performing”. This would be a dream come true as there is no way we could accomplish this on our own. Whom ever wins the tickets I hope will have the time of their life!!! Good luck everyone!
