Merritt Martin, former Observer alumni now editor at Eater Dallas, reports that Lumi on McKinney is shuttered. This is yet another of what will most likely be more than a few local restaurants taking a bow after a fairly harsh year and economy.
Martin waxes, “The little house with the modern decor, which served up both Brazilian and Vietnamese inspired fare, was also known for its bold cocktails that were gorgeous to look at and a bit dangerous to drink in multiples. And not because the bar employed jalapeño, ginger and other outspoken fresh ingredients.”
Lumi’s Facebook status states they appreciate the support and memories. This is a fantastic location on McKinney and most likely it won’t stay dark long.
Shoot never made it there. Guess that’s part of their problem…
Sucks, I really loved this place. Let me guess what occupies this space next: another tex-mex or gourmet burger spot. Geesh, sometimes people can’t spot gold when it’s right under their nose.
