Perhaps it was an odd location, or perhaps Dallas is simply not ready for good falafel and Shawarma, but Amsterdam closed its doors this past weekend leaving an empty spot for a great falafel.
We wrote about the funky Deep Ellum shop that sold freshly made falafel and shawarma last month in hopes that our readers would pick up on this shady spot. The DC transplant had simply delicious sandwiches which you were able to dress yourself via a salad bar with a vast array of interesting and tasty fillings such as a great hummus, babaganouj, a vast assortment of vegetables and pickled everything for one delicious and over-the-top lunch or dinner.
This is a closing that affects me and leaves a hole in my belly for falafel in Dallas.
