Most probably do not consider department store dining to be all that exceptional, when in fact we have several hot restaurants tucked away in the back of some of our finer purveyors for skirts and shoes. We have written about Neiman’s Zodiac more than a few times and they have been treating Dallasites to delicious fare for over 65 years.
Located in NorthPark Center at Nordstrom find a hot little gem called Bazille, which otherwise is known as the grill. There you will find delicious sandwiches, soups, pizzas, roasted fish, steaks and hearty pasta dishes. There are also delicate spa foods to be found for those with lighter appetites.
For those in the know the French Dip is chez oui, and the bruschetta is over-the-top. Try the French Onion for a one stop dish that will fill you up and get you back on the road to credit card hell in the notions department.
Our favorite by far is the crab mac and cheese which is loaded with large lump crab and a gooey cheese sauce that is above creamy. It is made with jumbo lump crabmeat, orecchiette pasta, fontina cream sauce, gruyère cheese, organic arugula salad, tomato, red onion and a parmesan cheese crisp. This will set you back nearly 17 dollars, but will satisfy beyond the norms and may vary well be all you need for the rest of the day. That, and a good Chardonnay which they will happily serve you.
