Taste Addison Line-Up

Taste Addison’s Saturday musical lineup will have you feeling like you’re at an early-2000s pop-punk music festival – in the best way possible. The Best-in-DFW festival, which dates back to 1993, will kick off at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 3, with a performance by DFW-based act Van Full of Nuns before launching into the first of four nationally known bands.

Opening up the national music act portion of Saturday’s lineup is Meet Me @ The Altar, an all-female pop-punk band formed in 2015 and known for its 2022 song “Say It (To My Face),” which was in a popular Taco Bell TV commercial. The band, whose members come from Florida, Georgia and New Jersey, met and began performing together over the Internet. Meet Me @ The Altar will take the stage at 4:30 p.m.

At 6:30 p.m., Hawthorne Heights, whose style blends hard rock with melodic pop elements, takes the stage. The band from Dayton, Ohio, is known for songs including “Ohio is for Lovers” and “Saying Sorry.” Its first two albums, 2004’s “The Silence in Black and White,” and 2006’s “If Only You Were Lonely,” both achieved Gold certification, with the latter peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Next up is Story of the Year, an iconic post-hardcore band of the 2000s that is still making waves today. Story of the Year’s 2002 major-label debut, “Page Avenue,” contained the popular singles “Until the Day I Die” and “Anthem of Our Dying Day.” The band’s sixth studio album, “Tear Me to Pieces,” was released earlier this month, along with a new music video for the title track. Story of the Year will perform at 8:30 p.m.

Finally, the headliner: Boys Like Girls. Formed in 2005, the group gained mainstream recognition with its self-titled debut album, which went on to sell more than 700,000 copies in the United States, spurring the top 10 single “The Great Escape.” A later album introduced the song “Two Is Better Than One,” featuring and co-written by Taylor Swift. The band’s musical influences include contemporary, emo pop and punk bands with a hint of ‘90s alternative rock. Boys Like Girls will take the stage at 10:30 p.m., ending the night on a high note.

The musical lineup for Friday, June 2 will be announced at a later date. Tickets for Taste Addison go on sale at 10 a.m. today at tasteaddisontexas.com.
